Always eager to know more about Pilates, Mary began studying Pilates in 1992 with Romana Kryzanowska who was trained with Joseph Pilates (the founder of Pilates) and took over his New York studio after his death. After one year of studying Pilates, Mary earned her certification in the original technique of Joseph. Still now, Mary continues to study along with Romana.

In 1990, Mary opened her first Pilates studio in Los Angeles. It was here that she introduces her inventive signature workout, “dynamic sequencing,” which is based on the techniques developed by Joseph. Soon, Mary became the most sought after fitness expert even in Hollywood.

Mary has co-authored three books: The Pilates Pregnancy: Maintaining Strength, Flexibility and Your Figure, The Pilates Powerhouse and The Pilates Workout Journal: An Exercise Diary and Conditioning Guide. She has also provided fitness inputs in many magazines like Glamour, Redbook, Woman’s World, InStyle, Shape, Vogue and others.

In the year 2003, Mary raised Pilates to a new level of recognition with her first infomercial. The huge success of the Winsor Pilates workout series and award-winning infomercials were incomparable.
